Frequently Asked Questions

1. Do you accept credit cards?
Glad you asked! No, we do not accept credit cards. Cash or checks only. There is an ATM machine five minutes down the road.

2. Do you allow dogs on your trails?
For the enjoyment of all visitors, dogs are prohibited at Windblown.

3. How do you know that everyone is safely off your trails at the end of the day?
We check our parking lots after 5 p.m. to make sure that all the skiers' cars have left. Please return to the Lodge or your car by 5 p.m.

4. Do you allow mountain biking on your trails in the off-season?
Sorry, we do not permit mountain biking. Our trails are too important to our livelihood to risk any erosion.

5. Can I hike on your trails in the summer?
Yes, you may hike on our trails when the snow is gone but we ask you to respect the privacy of the residents in the cabins and the house by avoiding the trails that go by them. Very importantly, if you want to park in our parking lot, you need to call for permission in advance. We do not allow parking here when our Lodge is rented out for a function. We encourage you to hike along the Wapack Trail. Parking for the Wapack Trail is always available beside the highway, just up hill from our driveway, where the trail crosses Rte. 124.

6. What is the Wapack Trail?
The Wapack Trail is a 21-mile ridgeline hiking trail that passes through Windblown. Link here for a complete description.

7. Can you recommend a restaurant that's on our way home? Is there a lounge with a fireplace nearby where we can enjoy a drink after we ski?
We maintain a binder in our Ski Shop with complete listings and menus of local Restaurants, Inns and Pubs, as well as brochures of all the B&Bs. Our staff will be happy to give you directions or to loan you our phone to make a reservation. The Monadnock Region abounds with good eateries and country-style lodging. You can view a listing of Inns by clicking on the Accommodations button above and the link to Inns and B & Bs in the area.

8. Do you sell new or used ski equipment?
We have a ski swap on the first Saturday in December from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Bring your old gear to sell or buy our rentals. Throughout the ski season we have some used gear for sale.

9. When do you start taking reservations for the Warming Hut?
On the first Monday of October at 7 am, we start taking reservations by phone for the following winter season. Weekend nights go fast so plan to call the day reservations open.
